Wedding Wednesday | Lauren B. | A New Orleans Bride
We are so happy that Lauren chose to work with Verde Beauty Studio on the biggest day of her life. She was a stunning bride with a timeless look at the Elm's Mansion in New Orleans. Lauren wore loose up do that showed off the beautiful neckline of her dress that was done by Karen at Verde Beauty Studio.
Before the "I DO"s... :
How They Met :
"I am originally from Louisiana and I moved up to Pennsylvania in 2013 with my best friend Olivia. I met Will at church (the church that I work for and attend) one Sunday, in January 2015, through a mutual friend. We became friends...we were in the same friend group, so we saw each other every once in a while, but not too much. During the summer, Will began an internship at our church, so we started seeing each other a lot more. I think our feelings for each other really started to grow around the holidays, and then he finally asked me out the week before Valentine's Day the next year. Our first date was on Valentine's Day...and the rest is history :)"
The Proposal :
"It was very well thought out and extremely sweet. He came to meet me for what I thought would be a quick lunch at my work. When he got there he told me that he had gotten me a half day at work and that we were going out to lunch. He took me to lunch in Ambler, PA and then we went to see a movie at this old theater where I had been wanting us to go on a date for a while. After that we walked around for a while...I knew something was up, but I was a little confused that nothing happened in Ambler. After that we stopped at Target, which completely threw me off and I started to doubt that it was going to happen that day. Then we went to another restaurant and had dessert before he brought me back to work. He told me that he left his iPad inside, and made me go in with him to get it. When we walked in, I heard music playing in the hallway. He walked me back to my old desk, where he had asked me out on our first date, and it was beautifully decorated with twinkle lights and white drapery. My best friend Olivia was there taking pictures, and two of his good friends were playing the music that I heard. After that, he sang one of our favorite songs to me..."Clear" by Needtobreathe. And then he got down on his knee and asked me to marry him. After that, I thought everything was over, and then two of my co-workers popped out of their offices and started singing a silly rendition of "Kiss the Girl" from the Little Mermaid. It was hilarious and a great ending to a ridiculously sweet proposal! There were so many other tiny details that would take me forever to explain, so I just hit the big ones. I'm all about the small things in life, so every little detail meant so much to me."

Wedding Day Details :
What made you choose where you got married? :
"I knew that I wanted to get married in LA. Since I was planning from PA, the venue definitely needed to have a lot built in. I thought Nola was a fun option since so many were travelling down. After seeing the interior of the Elms, I was sold! Stunning!"
What were your special details or parts of the wedding that were specific to you? :
"I had some very subtle Disney references and themes, since I LOVE Disney! I walked down the aisle to a violin cover of 'I See the Light' from Tangled. Our cake topper and favors were 'Adventure Awaits' which is from Up."
What did you choose to do as your favors? :
"I designed an 'adventure check-list.' It was a magnetic notepad. It had our name and wedding date and then had a design at the top that said "Adventure Awaits." They turned out to be so cute!"
Did you incorporate any wedding traditions from you or your partners families? :
"Not really, except that he is from the North and I am from the South...so each of those come with different wedding traditions. We had a money dance and a groom's cake, which are normal staples at a Southern wedding. And we did something similar to a receiving line, which is more of a Northern wedding tradition."
Did you rock a #hashtag? :
"#byebyebizette #gettinsieggywitit"
From the Bride... :
What is one thing you wish you would have known pre-wedding? :
"How tough planning a wedding really is! There were some fun parts, but it was harder than I thought. If not for my amazing family and friends...I don't know what I would have done!"
Words of Advice for future brides? :
"Definitely start with a vision of what you want and stick to it, but be creative...in the details, especially! Keep things simple whenever possible, and when it comes to the actual wedding weekend...just RELAX and ENJOY it to the fullest. Things may (will) go wrong, but in the end, you will still leave married to your favorite person in the world...and that's all that matters!"
