Before the I do's
How they met:
"Scott and I actually met on Match.com! We connected probably the day or two after I signed up for the site. We sent each other messages for about a month before we moved to texting - and then texted for a few weeks before we went on a date."
The Proposal:
"Scott popped the question on a Saturday morning before we hit the road to tailgate for an LSU game. It was October 3rd - which I'll never forget because of the movie Mean Girls. We spent the day tailgating with friends and after coincidentally meeting photographer Frank Relle (cousin of Ben Relle, Scott's future best man), we had a an impromptu engagement shoot under the stately oaks broad Magnolias."
Wedding Day Prep:
Prep Location:
The bridal party got ready in the Huey P. Long Suite and the groomsmen got ready in the Mezzanine Suite Hilton Baton Rouge Capitol Center.
What was your attire?
"Monogrammed button down shirts from The Milestone Maker - found on Etsy, located in Lafayette."
Did you do gifts for your parties? If so, what/from where?
"Ladies received a Mother of Pearl Kendra Scott Elton Bracelet, and a personalized tumbler (for mimosas, obviously) plus their monogrammed getting-ready shirt."
Bride's Style:
Anna wore an ivory Mikado silk gown that featured a strapless, sweetheart neckline with a full, ball gown skirt. The gown had a bow back detail and a chapel length train. Anne purchased the gown from Town and Country in New Orleans. She wore leather Reva ballet flats by Tory Burch with a blue and white floral motif.
Groom's Style:
Scott wore a warm-weather black tie with a single-breasted, shawl collar, white dinner jacket and black trousers. His attire also included a black cummerbund and black suspenders. Scott rented his tuxedo from Men's Wearhouse.
Wedding Details:
What made you choose where you got married?
"I've always loved the rich history of the Old State Capitol - and the stained glass is gorgeous."
What were your special details or parts of the wedding that were specific to you?
"Our wedding was officiated by my middle school Louisiana History teacher, now a pastor, as was perfect for the historic Louisiana setting. Instead of a traditional guestbook, guests penned warm wishes in the pages of a book of historic Louisiana maps. "
What did you choose to do as your favors?
"We gave Grits and Gratitude: small cotton bags filled with stoneground grits - complete with a recipe! Our welcome bags included a map of downtown Baton Rouge, pretzel rods dipped in red chocolate "Red Sticks", Zapp's potato chips, and bottles of water."
