Fun & Fabulous but very very late! | Erin C | Ponchatoula Wedding

We loved this bride and bridal party that we prepped at THE OAKS WEDDING AND EVENT CENTER in Ponchatoula this past year. This group was FUN but things stared our a little scary for us - when our team arrived no one was at the wedding venue and we couldn’t get a hold of the bride!

Nothing will make us nervous like not knowing where the bride is and that is just what happened for this wedding. Our team arrived on time to the location being locked up with not a car in sight - I was immediately called by the onsite artists and jumped into action!

Where was the Bride??!

We ask for our bride’s contact info along with their fiance’s AND maid of honor just for this reason! After several calls (do not disturb is not your friend!) to everyone I finally found the bride and talked with her.

How late were they going to be?!!?

VERY. Without letting us know the bride decided to start prep later; which normally would be fine if we knew but we didn’t! Our prep was to start for 9am and the bride told everyone 12!

How did you handle starting late?!?!

This bride in particular wanted a VERY dramatic makeup look that we knew would take time so we had to have a serious conversation on what and WHO could still get services!

After speaking with my bride, who is literally the CHILLEST, she decided to only do the bridal parties make up and hair services vs. bridal party and family members to make the later start time work for the team and her beauty vision.

What did the artists do?

Well… they had several hours in the morning to waste now so they went for breakfast after we spoke!

So you didn’t do everyone you were contracted for?

Nope. Our bride prioritized a later start time over the number of contracted services and since she was the contracted person she had the final say. For this bride in particular this worked but had she wanted to keep the same number of services, do a dramatic look AND start 3 hours later that wouldn’t have been possible on our end.

When we give you a start time it is based on services desired and complexity of the look - should you decide to change any of that we will have to alter what we are able to provide as not to compromise the quality of services you receive.

How’d it go in the end?!

She was a very happy and chill bride who got the extra sleep she wanted, my artists were paid for the services that they were told they would be doing and the day went off without a hitch!

If you are going to make changes to the wedding day timeline know that you need to be flexible and let us know ahead of time!

This could have gone very badly but all things worked out and Erin is still my hair client to this day and at the time of me writing this VERY preggers and so cute!!! <3 <3
