Wedding Wednesday | Lesley + Herb | A San Antonio Wedding

We were so excited to travel to Texas and be a part of Lesley and Herb’s wedding this past November at the Flying L Ranch Resort in San Antonio. Emily Fusilier Photography captured their love for one another perfectly!

How did you meet?

“Herb was an intern and I was working for a baseball complex in Baton Rouge. We started chatting and it turned out we had a ton of mutual friends. All of our friends started hanging out together and the rest is history!”

The Proposal:

“We went on a group vacation in Jamaica and he pulled me aside after dinner one night and proposed under a beautiful tree on the beach. it was so nice to have our moment and then celebrate with friends the rest of the trip!”

Wedding Prep:

Lesley and her bridal party began the wedding day by getting ready on location at the Flying L Ranch Resort in San Antonio, Texas. Tina and Puckett with Verde Beauty Studio created a beautiful textured wave, accented with an elegant hair comb from Etsy. This coordinated perfectly with her natural makeup look and GORGEOUS gown!

The Attire:

Lesley wore a STUNNING custom designed BLUE floral gown that she purchased from Natalie at Renegade Bridal. Lesley accessorized her gown with a glitter tulle cape, also from Renegade.

Herb wore a white jacket tuxedo purchased at The Black Tux.

The Details:

What were your special details or parts of the wedding that were specific to you?

“It was the weekend before Thanksgiving and I love family-style dinner, so I wanted it to feel like a Thanksgiving dinner with family - passed platters and homestyle food…”

“…Plus 8 flavors of pie!”

What made you choose where you got married?

“I wanted a beautiful backdrop and a “retreat” feeling where everything was in one place, people could come and stay the weekend - almost a destination wedding!”

Flying L Ranch Resort offers multiple venues throughout the resort. The beautiful Hill Country Views created a perfect setting for the unique and memorable wedding event Lesley dreamt of!

Following their ceremony at Flying L Ranch Resort, Lesley and Herb continued their celebration in the barn, where they enjoyed a family style dinner with their closest friends and family. The entire evening was truly FILLED with love, LAUGHTER & Happily Ever After!

Advice for Future Brides:

What is one thing you wish you would have known pre-wedding?

“You can't do it all and it’s ok. Don’t beat yourself up about every wedding detail.”

Words of Advice for future brides?

“Hire a wedding planner!! Early! It will save you too much stress…and money!
Doing things in an unconventional way is hard, but worth it. Put your foot down for the things that really matter to you and don't worry about the rest.
Don’t worry so much about what other people will think, there’s a 99% chance your guests won’t notice. (i.e. favors, seating charts)”
